Julia MacGlashan, L.Ac., MSTOM, Dipl.OM, received her master's degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago. She is NCCAOM board certified and licensed to practice by the State of Illinois.
Julia has experience working with a wide variety of health issues, including pain, energy, digestive, gynecological, and mental health concerns, among many others. Julia’s goal is to provide compassionate, patient-centered care, and her lighthearted and kind demeanor makes each treatment a joy. She enjoys Taoist philosophy and searches for the simplest treatment with the greatest benefits for each person she sees. While she utilizes a variety of techniques tailored to each person’s individual needs, she specializes in Japanese Meridian Therapy, with its gentle yet powerful needling techniques. Julia also incorporates tuning forks into the treatments whenever possible, because she has found sound therapy to be an extraordinary healing tool.
The harmony that acupuncture brings to the body’s meridians can permeate every aspect of a person’s life. It addresses not only the chief concern, but also prevents future illness and provides a general sense of wellbeing. Julia will meet anyone in their current state of mind, body, and spirit, and work with them to get them where they want to go. Julia was born and raised in Chicago. She has a dog named Houdini, and he has a beard.
