Thanks to many great friends, I am on the way of the yogic path. My first introduction to yoga was given to me by a friend practicing to be a teacher in 2004. A cold winter day in Chicago, my body was introduced to a new level of moving and sensation as she taught a small group in her apartment. Some time passed, and after a while I began to attend a regular class at Nature Yoga in Chicago taught by Tomoko Horikawa. She is so infectiously happy and caring with her energy and time, I kept going back each week. I remember the distinct feeling of sheer bliss walking down the sidewalk post-class. Why was I so happy? “Oh, this feeling… I want to continue on like this,” I said to myself. And not only that, I did not want to keep the feeling to myself, because that would be selfish! I love sharing what I think is good; be it food, music, etc…and that is how I became a yoga teacher today.

I enrolled in Moksha Yoga’s Teacher Training that began in February 2010, which proved to be one of the greatest decisions of my life. It sparked a passion to continue to learn and grow on a deeply personal level. Life is one of an evolving nature, and the study and application of yoga allows you to mature along with it interactively in a positive way as it progresses.

Keeping my original intention whole, I not only want to share yoga with loved ones, but also to those I do not yet know. It is a way to connect with people and have a sense of community, which in real-life is lacking more and more everyday.

This is a small preview of the “who, what, where, when, and why” I have an interest in teaching yoga today. In class, expect a combination of different elements of classical yoga [asana-postures, pranayama-breathing techniques, and meditation] woven throughout a safe yet challenging environment.

It is a way to connect with people and have a sense of community, which in real-life is lacking more and more everyday.

I am influenced by and grateful for the teachings of Daren Friesen, Tias Little, Aadil Palkhivala, Gabriel Halpern, Rich Logan, and Kim Wilcox.
