Yoga for Stable & Calm Kids
Saturday Apr 29
9am-12pm

regular: $45
member: $36

Many children today struggle with attention, focus, anxiety or “behavior issues.” Yoga looks at the deeper wisdom of the human mind and root cause of these conditions rather than the symptoms. Also, children appreciate being active participants in their own experience of well-being. It’s a new perspective from an ancient tradition.

Yoga teachers, school teachers, parents and other pediatric professionals will benefit from this deeper understanding and be better able to help children.
In this course you will learn:

Specific cues to use for kids in Yoga poses so you can share the practice with confidence and ease.

Basic practices you can use again and again at home or in class.

The key poses that help children develop stability-the foundation of well-being.

The exact words to use to help kids relax.

Specific actions for Yoga teachers, school teachers and parents.

And much more.

Yoga Nidra for Children
Saturday Apr 29
1:30-4:30pm

Yoga Nidra is a form of mindfulness training in which a person is guided through the different layers of the whole person—physical, energetic, emotional and mental. Yoga Nidra increases body awareness, a sense of ease in both body and mind and increased energy and creativity as beliefs and other mental habits are examined and released. It can help ease worry and stress in children of all ages—from three years old through teens and into adulthood.

Through this anxiety-reducing practice of relaxation, meditation and visualization, children will develop the ability to induce a sense of deep relaxation to help clear the mind, re-pattern thoughts and memories and reduce anxiety about future events. When kids are less stressed, they learn better too. Through the practice of Yoga Nidra, you will help children expand their imaginations and place them in an inner space of calm, helping to eliminate negative behavioral patterns.

In this workshop, you will learn how to modify this practice for children and how to weave in stories, art and games to make it engaging for these young students. Practices include setting an intention, developing an inner resource and inviting your experiences in for tea and cookies! No previous training or experience is required. This workshop is suitable for parents as well as Yoga teachers.
