Following the first 6-week session, we will be using the Maya Model to go deeper into Yoga Therapy for the Physical Body.
Viniyoga is an ancient Sanskrit term that implies differentiation, adaptation and appropriate application. As a style of practice, Viniyoga refers to an approach to Yoga that adapts the various means and methods of practice to the unique condition, needs and interests of the individual - giving each practitioner the tools to individualize and actualize the process of self-discovery and personal transformation.
Erin uses the tools of asana (Yoga postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), bandha, sound, chanting, meditation, personal ritual and textual study (Yoga Sutra-s of Patanjali).
Erin is a Yoga Therapist and has been teaching Yoga since 1999, her first teacher training was with Moksha Yoga, which led her to studying with Gary Kraftsow (American Viniyoga Institute). Erin received her Yoga Therapy Certification through AVI in 2006.
She is passionate about helping people overcome physical, physiological and and psycho-emotional obstacles. Erin works with students one-on-one or in a small group-focused setting to create a unique personal practice based on one’s goals and individual needs. “The success of Yoga does not lie in the ability to perform postures but in how it positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships.”
