This event was created in response to the #metoo hashtag recently used on social media to call attention to the sexual assault and harrassment of women. As many voiced their experiences and shared their stories online, a greater community and understanding was created. This event is intentioned to be another source of healing through the use of storytelling and communion. Storytelling is an intricate part of both individual and collective healing. Join forces with others, as we come to listen and share our stories. All are welcome!
A healing circle will be facilitated by Danielle D. Barton, with the blessing of Catherine Ashton, an expert in the field of trauma.
There is no cost associated with this event. However, donations are appreciated and will be given to the ‘Me Too’ campaign (the campaign in which this event is a direct response to). The ‘Me Too’ campaign was founded in 2007 by Tarana Burke. ‘Me Too’ is a nonprofit organization created to help victims of sexual harassment and assault.
Please bring an open heart, a story to tell and/or listening ears, and a journal. Together is how we heal.
