Ana and Jose will guide you through Forrest Yoga’s core strengthening poses. Then you apply them to the advanced technique of ‘surfing’ from pose to pose. Unfold and explore a whole new world in your yoga. Amazing and fun.

You will create a heightened sense of awareness through breath and asanas, and open to the amazing quality of feeling that lives inside of you. Use Forrest Yoga to connect to your core, shed what is no longer useful, keep what is of value and ‘with a breath of kindness blow the rest away.” Challenge and move your core energy into those areas where it has yet to be. Stalking Your Fear

Sunday May 19

How does fear affect you? Interested in learning how to change your relationship to fear? Fear is a
powerful emotion that dictates our decisions and hinders us from making good choices. Fear can lead to anxiety, despair and depression. Forrest Yoga teaches you a different way to relate and work with fear. It teaches you to use fear as a warning call, to listen, be alert and proceed cautiously. Fear does not have to be something that paralyzes you. In this session you will use breath and asana to access, comfort and support the parts of your body that are constricted by fear. This new approach to our fearful places brings about change quickly. Your body responds and relief can be felt immediately. You learn to move breath into these areas, stay steady, and remain present as difficult emotions surface, shift and transform. The bands that constrict your life force and contort your body begin to loosen. You will have room to breathe! When you treat your fearful parts with attention and compassion, you allow the ‘wonderful’ back into your life.

This workshop begins with a short, yet very special Ceremony of song, invocation & smoke blessing. Ana & Medicine Man, Jose Calarco set the intent for the practice and honor the ancestors and custodians of our sacred land.

About Ana Forrest & Jose Calarco

For over the last four decades, Ana Forrest has been bringing her particular brand of fierce medicine to the yoga world. An internationally recognized pioneer in yoga and emotional healing, Ana created Forrest Yoga while working through healing from her own life’s trauma and experience. Ana weaves Native American ceremony into her classes and workshops, calling on the forces that helped her heal from an abusive and challenging childhood. Her co-director of Forrest Yoga Jose Calarco also comes from a long history with shamanism and healing – just in a different sphere, that of music and the performing arts and brings his decades of experience in musical direction to the Forrest Yoga workshops and classes. Forrest Yoga is renowned as a powerfully physical, internally focused practice that emphasizes how to carry a transformative experience off the mat and into daily life. Ana and Jose are at the forefront of the Yoga world, guiding its future and evolution, making Yoga a complete evolutionary experience...

Ana Forrest is an inspiration. She has been changing people’s lives for over 40 years and is an internationally-recognized pioneer in yoga and emotional healing. Ana is a Medicine Woman, the creatrix of Forrest Yoga and author of the highly-acclaimed book, Fierce Medicine. Ana created Forrest Yoga as she worked through her own life traumas—including abuse, addictions and an unhealthy relationship with food— to find healing. She teaches from an intuitive and highly-developed understanding of the human body and psyche. Native American Medicine and the clinical application of healing modalities—including homeopathic and naturopathic remedies, reflexology, pressure point & craniosacral therapies, Shiatsu, chiropractic, and hands-on healing—always inform her work.

Ana’s Spirit pledge is to do her part in ‘Healing the Hoop of the People’. It’s her life’s work. Each year she gives thousands of people the tools to help them design a life that makes them proud. Ana received a Los Angeles Mayoral Commendation for her outstanding teaching and healing work in the community — the first time a major U.S. city bestowed such an honor on a yogi or yogini! Thousands of yoga teachers have been trained and/or inspired by Ana, including many internationally recognised names such as Seane Corn, Les Leventhal and Tiffany Cruikshank. Ana headlines at yoga events across the globe, contributes regularly to many yoga, health and Spirituality publications, and is a guest lecturer at educational institutions. Together with her husband, Jose Calarco, she has designed a collection of Yoga leggings made by Bombsheller and has recently been featured as a guest vocalist in Jose’s World Music compositions on iTunes.
