Tias Little - The Beehive

Fri, Nov 14, 2008, 6-8 pm

$50

This class is a movement meditation that serves to bring the student to great stillness. Like the harmonic movements of families of bees, this class is an exercise in the dynamic rhythm of a group in motion. Accompanied by music, the beehive includes standing, slow walking, fast stepping, and falling. The effects of this moving meditation are profound, guiding the student both inward and outward at the same time.

Tias Little - Sacred Skull (Part I & II)
Sat, Nov 15, 2008, 9 am-12 pm & 2-5 pm

$130
The cranium is home to 21 bones, the three upper chakras, three brains, and seven sensory openings or “gates”. This class explores the dynamic equilibrium of the skull in yoga meditation and asana practice. We review the jaw, tongue, inner ear, sagittal suture and fontanelles and the importance these structures have in releasing cranial compression.

Iyengar once said, “The hardest organ to adjust in the body is the brain”. In this class we will investigate what it means to release the organ of the brain, through inversions (headstand for those who can do it), forward bends and twists. Significant time is given to the practice of pratyahara—the softening of sensory awareness through pranayama, khechari mudra and visualization practices.

Tias Little - Purifying the Throat Chakra

Sun, Nov 16 , 2008, 9 am-12 pm

$65
The throat is a common receptacle for physical, emotional and psychic strain. This class serves to free restriction in the throat by practicing postures that irrigate blood and lymph into the neck region. We will also chant and create sound vibration in order to heal and purify the throat chakra.
