This event will focus on the combined effects of yoga postures to optimize the health of the internal organs. We will look at the position and function of the digestive organs— liver, spleen, stomach, small and large intestine—as we study the way yoga postures have a powerful effect on the mobilization of each organ. Through direct and indirect stimulation of the organ, the practice of postures serves to increase the circulation of blood and lymph through the gut.
We cover some of the common digestive ailments that inhibit good digestion, such as IBS, constipation, acid reflux and indigestion. We practice active postures for the internal organs including inversions, twists and back-archings. We also practice restorative/supported postures to reduce inflammation and excess heat in the gut.

This intensive will include a 1-1/2 hour lunch break from 12:30-2 pm.
