“It is teachers and practitioners like Jason that will take the art of teaching yoga to its next step.” Rodney Yee

In this weekend workshop, you will learn how alignment, attention to subtlety, and mindfulness cultivates greater depth in your flow practice. Said to have a “knack for explaining subtle movements in a way everyone can understand” (Yoga Journal), Jason will help you deepen your practice—teaching you to expand your edge, refine your knowledge, and cultivate mindfulness in your flow practice. Each workshop will begin with a brief discussion of related anatomy and core philosophical principles before moving into a smart, satisfying flow practice.

Developing Strength, Stability and Integrity:
How awakening your core leads to greater steadiness and integration

Fri, Mar 22, 6:30-9pm
regular: $40
member: $32
In this session you will awaken deep sensations and intelligence in the core of your body. You won’t do 10,000 sit-ups or crunches. Instead, you’ll examine how your feet, legs and abdominals work together to create greater strength, integration and ease in all of your poses. You can expect plenty of abdominal work woven into sun salutations, standing poses, twists and an occasional arm-balance or two.
Replacing Force with Understanding:
How to do arm-balances with greater refinement and less force

Sat, Mar 23, 10am-1pm
regular: $45
member: $36
The grace of arm balancing—as with so many things in life—comes from balance not force. Similarly, the hips, which often hold the key to arm balancing, respond best to smooth, slow unfolding rather than brief bursts of zealous pushing. In this workshop you will untie those knots in your hips and learn how to approach arm-balances with patience and ease.
Cultivating Space, Openness, and Clarity:
How to do deeper your backbends without strain or struggle

Sat, Mar 23, 2:30-5pm
regular: $40
member: $32
Practiced skillfully, backbends awaken the spine and clear the mind. Unfortunately, we can also compress the lower back and over-expose the front-body if we are too aggressive or performance oriented. This workshop will teach you to find greater depth—and greater comfort—in your backbends by using your arms, legs, and spine effectively.
Taking Refuge:
How side-bends, twists, and forward bends soothe the mind and
release stress

Sun, Mar 24, 10am-1pm
regular: $45
member: $36
If you like having dessert first, register for this class immediately. This workshop won’t leave you gasping for breath or have you telling your friends how much class just kicked your bum. Instead, it will unravel tension from your side-body,
