Seeking peace and balance in her life, Parisa discovered her love for yoga in 2006 during her upbringing in Iran, quickly realizing the incredible impact on her life. Moving to Chicago in 2010 to pursue a business career in technology, the learnings from her first yoga teacher in Tehran, Masoud Mahdavipour, inspired and empowered her to overcome challenges of adapting to a new life.
Parisa's enthusiasm for yoga motivated her to enroll in Moksha's foundation teacher training program under the guidance of Daren Friesen - a program adept in the deeper aspects of asana, pranayama, history, and the classical philosophy of yoga, outlined in an ancient text called the Yoga Sutras.
Parisa found her true yoga passion in the practice of Astanga Mysore style with Todd Boman, Moksha's senior Astanga teacher. Under his guidance and with a daily practice and self-study, she has explored the expanding limits of the human mind and body.
As a teacher, Parisa is inspired by both the external and internal practices of the Astanga system. Incorporating the tristhana techniques of bandhas, breath, and dristi, the practice has deepened her connection to both yoga and life. In Parisa's classes, students will find a deeper physical and mental practice with a focus on the elements of the tristhana system with along with safe and effective hands-on adjustments. Her classes are suitable for all skill levels.
