Intro to Yoga Series
Join us for a 3 week Intro to Yoga course taught by Moksha’s Teachers-in-Training. This complimentary course will introduce you to the fundamentals of yoga in a fun and friendly atmosphere. All are welcome.
Your Instructors…
Marissa
Marissa began her yoga journey in 2012 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her practice transformed at Moksha Yoga Studio, where she discovered the true benefits of yoga. Alongside yoga, Marissa is pursuing graduate studies to become a licensed mental health counselor, integrating somatic modalities with traditional therapy. She creates a warm, nonjudgmental space for students to explore and deepen their practice.
Lucy
Lucy took her first yoga class at eighteen and found inspiration in the mental clarity it brought. While studying at Aurora University and working as a special education teacher, she turned to a consistent yoga practice for both inner and outer strength. Now, nearing the completion of her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, Lucy’s passion has evolved from personal healing to a desire to share yoga’s benefits with others. She is inspired by the positive effects she has experienced and focuses on Vinyasa and Ashtanga styles, incorporating classical yogic wisdom.
Victor
Victor, originally from Romania, has been in Chicago for about 10 years and works as an electrical contractor. After a head injury in the summer of 2023 led him to stop kickboxing, Victor turned to yoga as a more peaceful long-term activity and joined the 200hr Foundation Teacher Training program at Moksha, inspired by Daren’s teaching. As a future yoga teacher, Victor aims to create classes that provide meaningful lessons to his students and inspire them to pursue the practice of yoga to the best of their abilities.
